The Odessa and Leningrad: Siege and Liberation module focuses on important battles from the beginning and end of the war, namely the sieges of Odessa and Leningrad and their subsequent liberation.

Unlike the other modules, Siege and Liberation contains two large maps: Odessa and Leningrad. Another highlight is the pilot career mode, which covers the longest timeframe of all WWII modules. This mode covers the periods from June to October 1941 and from April to August 1944 in Odessa, as well as from September 1941 to April 1942 and from January to September 1944 in Leningrad.

IL-2 Sturmovik: Odessa and Leningrad is part of the IL-2 Great Battles series. This module can be played as a standalone game or together with the others, creating one large flight combat simulator.

• Eight aircraft recreated in detail: The I-153 "Chaika" and the LaGG-3 series 4 are currently available. The rest (the Yak-1 series 23, the Yak-3 series 9, the Bf 109 E-4, the Ju 87 D-5 "Stuka," the La-7, and the Il-2 mod. 1944" will be added later.
